    Like many Victorian properties in London, the kitchen of this house suffered from cramped ceiling heights and low levels of natural light. To solve this issue the floor level of the extension has been excavated below ground level to provide a generous floor to ceiling height in the new open plan kitchen/living space. Steel frame Crittall doors, a Shaker-style kitchen and herringbone oak floors provide a contemporary twist on the traditional and tie in beautifully with the period features of the original house. The existing cellar was also excavated to provide additional utility space.
